The Gold Coast Aquatic Centre project is the redevelopment of the original Southport Pool established in the 1960s. The aquatic centre is being upgraded to accommodate the 2014 Pan Pacific Swimming Championships and the Gold Coast 2018 Commonwealth Games™. AIS AutoChlor SRC-625 Chlorine Generator has been installed to the renovated outdoor 25m 560,000 litres, 25m long, 21m wide, 1.1m to 1.4m deep swimming pool. The project is a joint partnership between the City of Gold Coast and the Queensland Government.
