From 217 entries over 12 categories, AIS Water was one of 19 national finalists and one of only two named for the Advanced Manufacturing category in the 2020 Australian Technologies Competition (ATC).
AIS Water’s water disinfection technology for commercial and residential swimming pools was recognised for its global potential of delivering safe, clean water while simultaneously helping pool operators to save millions of litres of water every year from being wasted.
AIS Water CEO and co-owner Elena Gosse said that the work associated with entering the ATC was extensive, including customised business plans and workshops.
“The process of entering the ATC, from nominating to becoming a finalist was not for the faint hearted, however it provided us with further invaluable insight about our business and ways to introduce our technology to new global markets, Elena said.
“We were delighted to be recognised as one of only two national finalists in the Advanced Manufacturing Category. This is proof of our innovative and advanced technology and a credit to our team.”
The Australian Technologies Competition celebrated its 10th anniversary in 2020, supported by the Department of Industry, Science, Energy & Resources, the Industry Growth Centres and Industry partners. The awards identify and accelerate Australian technology ‘scaleups’ with the greatest global potential according to award organisers, Impact Technology Ventures.
ATC states that the competition brings experienced entrepreneurs, business builders, angel investors, venture capital funds, commercialisation experts, leading corporates and government representatives together with founders, in a collaborative coaching environment. It has a strong focus on equipping founders with the skills and contacts to develop and manage high growth companies in challenging international markets.
