Elena Gosse, CEO of AIS Water, has taken home two awards on Saturday evening (28.9) in the national YAwards. Elena won the Gold Disruptor Award which celebrates impactful women who are leading the way in business, and the Bronze Most Inspirational YAward for women who have overcome adversity to create their best life and serve as an inspiration to others.
The awards add to the over 30 national and international business awards that Elena has received in her prestigious career.
Elena is disrupting the global swimming pool and spa industry through her company’s unrivalled, inline water disinfection technology which provides safer and more socially responsible water disinfection for commercial and residential swimming pools.
Specifically, Elena is bringing awareness to the trillions of litres of water that are being wasted every day by inferior water disinfection technologies and highlighting the responsibility of the pool and spa industry, governments and private sector to ensure water is preserved to enhance life, namely the sustainability of our planet’s people, creatures and ecosystems.
She is also a board member of SPASA, the pool and spa industry’s national body.
Elena serves as inspiration to other women by sharing her journey of how she came to be CEO of her own company after arriving from Russia without being able to speak a word of English. Her story includes how she arrived in Australia after living in a home where family violence was common, where she left behind a successful entertainment career, learned English, completed further university studies and then reinvented herself by succeeding in the male dominated industry of water disinfection. Elena also gives back to her community throughout a range of initiatives including Dancing CEOs which raises funds to assist women escape domestic and family violence.
