Brisbane CEO Elena Gosse named a finalist in Lord Mayor’s Business Awards ‘Business Person of the Year

CEO of AIS Water, Elena Gosse has been named as a finalist in the annual Lord Mayor’s Business Awards in the Business Person of the Year Category. Elena is one of only four finalists, along with Marie Mortimer – loans.com.au, Phillip Di Bella – The Coffee Commune and Scott Power – BMD Group.

Elena has been recognised for her outstanding leadership, business acumen and services to her community. Over the past 28 years she has steered her company through challenging times including the global pandemic, is expanding her company with a third manufacturing facility (currently under construction) and employs over 43 people in her water disinfection technology for swimming pool business.

After originally arriving in Brisbane as a Russian immigrant, Elena said she was grateful for the opportunities Brisbane presented to her personally and professionally.

“At a time when many businesses are moving their manufacturing off-shore I’m very proud of what our company has achieved, Elena said.

“Our technology operates in 55 countries worldwide, including swimming pools for 90 Queensland schools, at major hotels and resorts, and municipal public pools across Australia and the globe.

“We’re proud to be promoting Brisbane as a place of innovation, excellence and world-class manufacturing.”

Elena also gives back to her community by raising funds and awareness to stop domestic and family violence.

Brisbane Lord Mayor Adrian Schrinner said despite a tough economic climate, the 2021 awards showcased some of the most innovative, entrepreneurial and creative businesses operating in Brisbane.

“I can confidently say these award finalists are an inspiration to the next generation of leaders and entrepreneurs, and their products, services and innovations are contributing to creating long-lasting prosperity to the lives of our residents across Brisbane.”

The Lord Mayor’s Business Awards will be held in Brisbane on 22 October.
